Basic Walk Cycle
Below is an example walk cycle animation created with a very simple rig I developed or teaching purposes. Included are two additional files for you to download and use: Movie (296KB), PDF tutorial (7.7MB), and Simple Maya Rig in a ZIP archive (372KB).
I created these resources to help students with a simple bipedal walkcycle using a pose-to-pose method drawn from Richard Williams' Animator's Survival Kit.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Ok, just 2 out of 3... or maybe its all ugly. Whatever the case, below are two sample QuickTimes for you to download and use:
Sticky feet = good. Wobbly knees = bad.
I created these resources using the Maya source files for the tutorial as a starting point. They each run at one third of original tempo for easier viewing.
Each movie is 1.6MB in size.
